Meant to Grow
Relationships have a clear beginning: the first time you meet someone, or the first date. There are other firsts along the way, and there may even be a wedding. But the wedding is not the end of the growth of the relationship. The individuals continue to grow as people and the relationship grows accordingly. How is grows - for better or for worse - depends on the commitment of the couple. If the wedding is seen as the finish line, and the marriage is taken for granted, things don't go well. If the wedding is seen as the beginning, and every day after that is seen as an opportunity for the marriage to get even stronger, even better, then things do go well.
Treat something as though it has a finish line, and it will end.
Treat something as though it doesn't have a finish line, and not only will it not end, it will continue to get better.
Treat the important things in your life as though there is no finish line. Keep growing. Keep getting better. Starting today.
Make every day count.
