The Power of Being Intentional - Thoughts and Journal Prompts for the Week

Imagine your life is a ship. You can let the currents and winds take you wherever they may, or you can grab the helm and chart a course. Being intentional is about grabbing the helm. It’s about moving through life with purpose, rather than just reacting to what happens.

We all have habits, routines, and a daily rhythm. But how many of these are truly serving our goals and values? We often get caught in the trap of "someday" — someday I'll start that project, someday I'll learn that skill, someday I'll prioritize my well-being. The truth is, someday is a myth. The only day we have is today.

Being intentional means making a conscious choice in this very moment. It's choosing to put down your phone and engage in a meaningful conversation. It's choosing to make a healthy meal instead of grabbing fast food. It's choosing to spend 15 minutes on that side project you’ve been dreaming about. These small, deliberate actions add up to create the life you’re capable of.

Think about a goal you have, whether it’s personal or professional. Now, ask yourself: What is one small, intentional step I can take today to get closer to it? It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture. Maybe it’s sending that one email, reading a chapter of a book, or simply writing down your thoughts.
When you live with intention, you shift from being a passive passenger to an active participant in your own life. You stop waiting for things to happen and start making them happen. The most powerful change often comes from the smallest, most intentional choices we make every day.

So, what choice will you make today?
